Removing some common carpet stains
Beer - Blot with detergent solution, (see definitions below). Rinse with warm water. If the stain remains, you may try a vinegar solution, (see definitions below). Rinse with warm water.
Blood - Blot with peroxide, Rinse thoroughly with water when blood is gone. Always test the fabic to make sure the peroxide won't remove the color of the fabic.
Coffee - Blot with detergent solution, (see definitions below). Rinse with warm water.
Grease - Scrape off excess grease with putty knife. Using a degreaser such as formula 409, apply small amount to affected area, allow to sit for 2 minutes. Blot up with a clean cotton cloth. Rinse with warm water. Repeat as needed.
Gum - Chill by placing crushed ice on the gum for about 10 minutes. Remove the ice and with a putty knife, scrape the gum off of the carpet. Blot up any excess water with a clean cotton cloth.
Definitions
1.
Detergent solution - Mix 1 teaspoon of a mild detergent such as dishwashing liquid containing no alkalis or bleach in one cup of warm water. Do not us laundry detergents.

Vinegar solution - Mix 1/3 cup of white household vinegar with 2/3 cups of water.
